How to Turn Off Windows Defender on Windows 7 | Computer Tips and Tricks

In the previous post, we have shared the computer tips and tricks about how to create disk partition on Windows XP, and now let us back to Windows 7 again. The next Windows 7 tips is about how to turn off Windows Defender feature. Windows Defender was made to prevent the computer or notebook from viruses, spyware, and malware attack, this feature will be automatically installed when you install the Windows 7 on your computer or notebook. But, if we don't use this feature, we can turn off it. Here is the tutorial.


The first step, open the Windows Defender application, click on "Start" button and type "Windows Defender". Then click on Windows Defender link in the windows that appear. Look at the picture.

Then, click Tools in menu section, and then select "options" in Settings tab. See the image below.

Then, choose the "Administrator" menu in the left panel, and remove the check list for "use this program" in the right panel. You will receive the notification that the Windows Defender isn't activate. With this action, the Windows Defender feature will not be active, but when you restart your computer, it will be active again. To turn off the Windows Defender features forever, even when you restart your computer or notebook, go to "Start" button and type "services.msc" and then press Enter. Look at the picture below.

On services window, scroll down and find "Windows Defender" in the list and then double click on it. Look at the picture below.

Then, the Windows Defender Properties window will appear. In the Start up type, select "Disabled". See the picture below.

Now, Windows Defender has inactive. If you don't have another application to protect your PC or notebook from malware or spyware, they will attack your computer easily.
